The Career Centre functions to facilitate Work Experience 12A and 12B courses and to support Career Prep Programs.
In addition we also provide information on, and assistance with:
- Post-secondary planning
- Scholarship searches and applications
- Resumes, cover letters and job searches
- Career planning and assessments
- Secondary School Apprenticeship and SD#42 Trades Partnership Training
The Career Centre is staffed by a part time Work Experience Coordinator, and a Career Assistant who works 14 hours per week. The Centre is open 5 days a week from roughly 8:00 – 3:30. Our busiest times are during lunch hours. Students are welcome to drop in any time, or they may make an appointment.
Our Centre is equipped with 3 computers which all have internet, Email and word processing capabilities. Additionally we have purchased Career software which students can use for planning, portfolio and career preparation. Students are welcome to drop in to use the facilities, regardless of purpose.
